Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her first EP, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the web, including her own released single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July in 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate together with Rihanna. On December 8 it was announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. She released Pho, her debut album on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and also performed as the opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video came out on the 5th. Then on the 9th November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. As a support act, she toured in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
