Kim Delaney is an American actress best known as the character detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the Detective Diane Russell on ABC's series NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a household worker. Her upbringing was in a family that included four brothers. She envisioned being a reporter for the court in childhood but started modelling while at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved from New York. In her teens her first appearance as an actress came in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of television shows, films and dramas after that. Delaney has not lived a successful or happy personal life. She has been in the past talented actress struggled to overcome the effects of alcohol and two marriages fall apart. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the only child that she had.
